One of my favorite (and busiest) times of the year is in the heart of pheasant season. This is when all the hard work from training the dogs really shines. They can't wait to be out in the field, doing what they love to do. And it's always my pleasure to be a guide for many different groups throughout this incredible time.
For many years, I've been one of the guides for the Wyckoff Family's yearly hunt and this year was no exception. The weather was warm and we all had a great time. The dogs had an outstanding day and I was proud of them.
Even though it's extremely busy, I'm always thankful and have a smile on my face when I get to see my dogs in action. When all of the work of training and prepping are being put to the test and everything comes together, it helps make all of the time away from family a little more worthwhile. I feel a sense of accomplishment and pride and always regain my appreciation and respect for the land and my love of hunting.
Thank you Wyckoffs! Until next year....
Sam
